It is such a serious issue of worker's safety but from these figures below it seems profit is the only motive for owners of factories. But most important point to note is that all these factories supply most of their products to Western Rich Countries and to North American major brand names.
But the really interesting thing which is common to all incidents are that all major brand name buyers are trying to play innocent. Everybody is claiming that they stopped buying from these factories a million years ago. We are Mr Clean. May be they are may be not.
But one thing is clear that they companies are making extra ordinary profit margins. They buy from Bangladesh for dirt cheap and sell here in North American markets for huge profits. Why did not they share some profit with the factory owners with a strict condition to upgrade their facilities according to American standard of fire and safety standards. All these brand name companies are equally guilty of these killings and fully responsible to be accountable for the breach in safety standards. These companies must be penalized for there share.
All these brand name companies project their quality and standards in the buyers market, but so shameful that this quality and standard are at the cost of poor factory workers in poor countries like Bangladesh. What a corporate greed!
Equally we all North Americans (USA & CANADA) buyers of these brand name are responsible to some extent for these killings. We enjoyed the quality of clothing at the cost of these poor people. They deserve better treatment from these brand name companies and we must ask our Canadian & USA governments to make these brand name companies and other corporate giants dealing with these factories to be accountable for it. Keeping silent would ensure that we are equally responsible for these killings along with these brand name companies and corporate giants dealing with these factories.
Why it is always the poor that have to suffer? Why politicians of Bangladesh, Canada, USA and other Western countries are not taking any action against these companies? We know these companies may have given you big political funds but it does mean they have bought our politicians with those funds! Show your transparency for justice.
If you can bring war criminals to court trials for war crimes, why can't you bring these corporations to court trials for killings of those innocent poor people. It is a matter of serious nature and these corporations must come forward and admit their corporate crimes.
